Getting started

From install to your first successful replacement in about a minute.

  1. 1. Install the extension

Add Auto Text Replacer from the Chrome Web Store in one click. No account needed.

    Install free on Chrome

  2. 2. Open the popup

Click the extension icon. New users see a short first-run card explaining what ATR does.

  3. 3. Create hello → hi

Click “Create first rule”, keep hello → hi, pick the General collection, and Save. Or install a starter template in one click.

Try it in the live demo first

  4. 4. Visit any page and type hello

Go to any article, doc, or input. Type hello, or just look at hello already on the page.

  5. 5. See hi + verify in the test box

Matching text is replaced automatically. Use the in-extension test box (now free for everyone) to try hello world → hi world without leaving the popup.
